Dr. David M. Yousem is currently the Director of Neuroradiology and a Professor of Radiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Yousem received his B.S. and M.D. degrees at the University of Michigan. He completed a radiology residency at Johns Hopkins and a 2-year fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He recieved his MBA degree at Johns Hopkins University in 2003.


Dr. Yousem's expertise spans the full gamut of neuroradiology techniques including CT, MRI, angiography, myelography, sialography, plain films, CT guided aspirations and biopsies, functional MRI, diffusion and perfusion imaging, MR/CT angiography, and 3D reconstructions. He is a noted authority on disorders of the brain, spine, head and neck, olfaction, cranial neuropathies, and neurodegeneration.Dr. Yousem has authored/edited 3 books ("Neuroradiology: THE REQUISITES", "Head and Neck Case Review", and "Radiology Business Practice: How to Succeed" all published by Mosby/Elsevier) and has edited 3 other journal issues. He has published over 160 articles in peer-reviewed journals and over 50 chapters in books. He currently is the President of the American Society of Neuroradiology and will serve as the Past-President of the ASNR in 2008-9. He currently sits on many of its committees. He is also active in the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, as well as the Association of Program Directors of Radiology. Dr. Yousem is on the Editorial Board of 2 journals.

Dr. Yousem has completed two marathons (best time 3 hours 54 minutes), a half Ironman, and a full Ironman (2.5 mile swim followed by 112 mile bike ride followd by 26 mile run) competition. He received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2003.
